Install Asterisk Synology Dsm 6.1

Hi everbody, Synology has published a package to quickly install Asterisk on its Diskstation NAS systems - unfortunately, FreePBX so far has not been ported successfully onto those NASes. Anyone out there who can help how to add FreePBX to Synology’s Asterisk package (with 44.000 downloads of Diskstation users!!!) or install FreePBX+Asterisk together on the Diskstation? FreePBX is so much. Synolgoy NAS units are extremely popular. One of the best features of the Synology ecosystem is the company’s commitment to both bugfix and new feature releases on regular Diskstation Manager (DSM) releases. Synology has now released the latest version, Synology DSM 6.1 with a slew of new features.

Try using https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc/wiki/Debian-Chroot instead. It an be installed from the DSM Package Center.

Make sure you can SSH into your NAS.
Browse to your Disk Station Manager and enable the SSH service.

Download the right bootstrap file.

syno-i686-bootstrap_1.2-7_i686.xsh in my case. You can do it as follows in your terminal:

Make the script executable

chmod +x syno-i686-bootstrap_1.2-7_i686.xsh

Run the script

sh syno-i686-bootstrap_1.2-7_i686.xsh. I get the following output:

Remove the script again

rm syno-i686-bootstrap_1.2-7_i686.xsh

Reboot the NAS and log in again as root.

Update the list of available packages

Upgrade any ipkg installed packages to the latest versions: /opt/bin/ipkg upgrade

I noticed just running ipkg failed, so uncomment the following two lines as follows in /root/.profile:

Reload the shell after this to get ipkg working.

I also added :/opt/sbin:/opt/bin to get IPKG working for root without having to add a path in front.

ipkg install programname
