- Delete the unlocked files vray_v4x00x_fix.dlr and vray_v4x00x_max_fix.dll you ever used, or any other unlocked files like vray201x.dlr, vray_zzz201x.dll, LastVRay.dlr, BlackStorm.dlr, etc.
- Download and install V-Ray for 3ds Max (there is no need to install the License Server)
- Copy the unlocked file ‘vray_v4x00x_fix.dlr‘ to the following path:
- C:Program FilesAutodesk3ds Max 20xxplugins (or C:Program FilesAutodesk3ds Max 20xxpluginsvrayplugins)
- Copy the unlocked file ‘vray_v4x00x_max_fix.dll‘ to the following path:
- C:Program FilesChaos GroupV-Ray3ds Max 20xx (for x64)binplugins

- Uninstall all previous versions of V-Ray

- Copy the single cgauth.dll file to C:Program FilesChaos GroupV-RayRT for 3ds Max 2015 (or 2016) for x64bin (so as to use the RT)
